Review for The Other Guys does well

Friday was when the film “The Other Guys” came out. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell and Steve Coogan. The reviews for “The Other Guys” tended to lean on the good side. ”The Other Guys” is really good for both Ferrell and Wahlberg considering they have both made some pretty bad movies within the last few years. Adam McKay, director of “Anchorman,” “Talledega Nights” and “Stepbrothers,” directed this film.

’The Other Guys’ is a movie that’s been done before with other actors

The premise behind the movie is that a disgraced cop (Wahlberg) is given demeaning work after a high profile fiasco in which his character inadvertently shoots Derek Jeter. He is reassigned to white collar crime, where he partners up with an awkward geek, Will Ferrell as a forensic accountant. They go to take down a businessman (Steve Coogan) and his plan. It is quite funny to watch. Each and every plot has been done before, just like this one. It’s the personalities that make the main difference between studios losing money or striking box office gold.

Reviews have been good

So far, the film has a rating of 79 percent good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Ferrell recently starred in “The Goods,” and “Land of the Lost”, both of which got less than 30 percent in their ratings. Wahlberg has been doing poorly too considering he hasn’t had a film since 2007 get more than a 32 percent. Critics think that the movie is idiotic humor although it is nevertheless good. MTV Kurt Loder says it is an excellent summer comedy although it isn’t very smart.

Worth watching it

If you are within the mood for a goofy comedy, then this may be just what the doctor ordered. Many Americans may just need this humorous movie with all of the grim things happening within the economy.
